Hi, I’m Megan

If I’m being honest, I’ve wanted to talk to you for awhile now. I’ve seen you struggling. I’ve been there, and I want to help. I’m a registered nurse, a mom, and currently am in the process of becoming a lactation counselor. So, you could say that caring for and about others is just kind of what I do.

I’ll also let you in on a little secret.

I was an “older” mom when I had my daughter. I had tons of life experience under my belt. I’d been a nurse for over a decade, some of those years working in pediatrics.  I’d taken multiple child development courses. I’d nannied in college. I really thought I knew what I was getting in to.

I was wrong.

Despite my education and experience, I was ill prepared for motherhood. Because the truth is, no one talks about the actual reality of bringing home a baby. Our expectations are all wrong, and consequently, we feel like failures. But we’re not failures, we just haven’t been set up for success. We’ve been made to believe that breastfeeding should be easy because it’s natural. We’ve been told that baby should be able to sleep through the night on their own. We’ve been led to think that if motherhood is anything less than perfect and wonderful, then we must not be cut out for it.

But that’s all wrong, and I’m here to shed a little light on the actual biological norms. In so doing, we can set appropriate expectations, develop real solutions, and support you in the way you actually need.

Because I’m here for you, Mama.
